About Shephaalee Crèche
Overview
Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), in its commitment to ensuring the well-being of its staff, is proud to unveil the Shephalee Crèche Facility, a safe child care facility for children of working parents of KIIT, KISS and KIMS. The facility, spread over a curated space of 7000 sq.ft caters to infants from 6 months onwards and toddlers till the age of three. It has been initiated with the utmost dedication to complement the work-life balance for employees of KIIT Group of Institutions.
Inspiration
Hon’ble Founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta’s deep-rooted concern for staff welfare has been the primary motivation behind this initiative. He recognises the challenges faced by working parents, especially mothers. The idea of a crèche was conceived upholding the values of inclusivity (50% of the staff being women) in a relatively young university with young staff to provide a space where children would be safe, nurtured, educated, and cared for.

Shephalee Creche is more than just a space for children to bide their time. It is designed to be a space of learning, play, and growth. The facility promises an environment equipped with best-in-class care and developmental activities. By alleviating the concerns of working mothers, the crèche serves as a progressive step towards women empowerment within the institution. It provides them with a stress-free environment to focus on their professional commitments, knowing that their children are in capable hands.
